Motherboard and PSU Compatibility

I just installed a few new components onto my PC, and I think I am pushing the voltage for my computer's PSU. There is now a metallic smell coming from the machine, and the PSU feels warmer than it normally does, although the CPU and MB temperatures are below average (55 degrees even under full load). I was originally using an Antec VP-450 450W ATX 12V v2.3 Power Supply (don't judge).

I am just checking to make sure that my motherboard and the new PSU I want are compatible (and will fit in the case, although I'm almost sure that it will). I know there are other threads about this, but I am not sure when it comes to all the pins and sizes. I'll provide as much information as I can!

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850w G2
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77
Case: Rosewill Challenger
CPU: Intel i5-3570k
RAM: 4x2GB G.SKILL NS 240-pin DDR3 1333
Monitor: ASUS VH242H 23.6in
Fans: One stock 120mm fan, 3 Cougar 120mm and 1 140mm blue LED hydraulic

PSU length is highly unlikely to be an issue in that case... Do a search for...

I did so, and it didn't bring up any compatibility issues, but funnily enough it picked up a discrepancy between my video card and case when there is none haha

I didn't realize pcpartpicker.com checked compatibility, too. I feel a little foolish now. Thanks! If anyone has anything to add, please do so!

No worries - bare in mind it won't always pick up case size issues such as a cooler that is too tall etc

I'm just worried this PSU I want is too long - the height and width dimensions are smaller than the previous PSU, but the length is much longer.

PSU length is highly unlikely to be an issue in that case... Do a search for some images of it (as I have)... there's loads of length-space free for a big PSU
