Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 backpanel USB3 ports not working

I have installed my Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 motherboard and, unfortunately, the front-panel USB3 header was missing an internal pin (and I'm not DOAing over that, I have games to play here!), so I just got an adapter and plugged the front-panel USB3s into one of the USB2 headers and those work fine...anyway, not the point of the question.

The back two USB3 ports don't do anything at all, but all of the 3x USB power ports work fine (I'm assuming those are USB2?)...I'd like for these guys to work, and I'm sure they have nothing to do with the missing pin on the F_PANELUSB3 header, so do I need to install an extra driver or whats up? Again, if I can get these guys to fall down to USB2 just so long as they work then I'll be content but I'd like to know why they're not working in the first place.

Thanks for any answers!

(PS: Is the F_PANELUSB3 (I don't remember the actual headers name so I'm guessing there) supposed to be missing a pin or was this an actual DOA fault?)

Solution
best I recall usb3 is not native on amd as with intel so you have to relied on whoevers software[ they use to get it going [this can be a pain and just find let the run at usb2 speeds ] some tims the usb3 driver causes issues its a funny thing on amd boards

USB 3.0 ports running off the Etron EJ168 controller so you need to install the etron driver from them

sorry to hear that but we ran into the same issues here with amd I went intel this go round as I said its native on there chipset no 2ed party chip running it .. honestly I don't see a real difference in my devices but then I guess that's not the point ...
well maybe you will find something out and get it going
good luck
