Hello, I just accidentally plugged a 3.5mm headphone jack into my Xonar Phoebus's SPIDF port, can SPIDF take 3.5mm jacks? And could the port be ruined because I plugged it in?

Solution
The SPDIF jack was designed around people doing that on accident and on purpose, the SPDIF jack is longer than a 3.5mm headphones jack so you will not end up damaging the LED or sensor. Some systems are setup that they will allow copper connections (normal 3.5mm) in the SPDIF (optical) port, as they are the same size.

I think you may be referring to TOSLINK.

I think I understand now, you used that cable to connect it to the port on the Phoebus (the port glowing red) into the A40's Mix AMP and had your headphones plugged into the Mix AMP? It sounds like you did the right things. You will probably need to plug in the USB for the mixer if you haven't already as it needs power to convert from optical to copper signals.
