Hello,

I have a problem with my wifi adapter and it's bugging the shit out of me. The problem with the adapter is that everytime I test the connect with speedtest, I can see why my download is so slow. I'm only getting 2Mbps rather than the 25mbps I'm promised from the provider (usually I get a 14-15Mbps because of the TV that draws some resources which is okay). In any games my ping never has a problem, it doesn't jump around but I'm still rubber banding all over the place.

For a reason I know it's no the providers fault because I speedtested with all my devices, and they all are getting around 14-15Mpbs with TV on. (It's on everyday..so I can never get that promised 25 for my PC)

Also I went to my router page, and played with the channels. Sometimes I can get one that is giving me a 10mbps connection, but that was so rare, and it never lasted. Every morning when I turn on my PC, it drops back to 2Mbps. Now I got back to 5Mbps playing with the channels one by one. The channels doesn't impact my other devices at all, only this PC.

My provider is Telus in Vancouver, and I think they use optic fiber connection.
There are about 1PC, 1TV, 1Tablet, and 1 Iphone connected all the time.
A media PC if we are going to watch any movies in my own media room. (mostly inactive)

Details of Specs and stuff:

Wifi Adapter: PCE-N15 installed with defualt windows UI (they have a asus UI it sucks)
Adapter Driver Version: 1.0.0.5 (I installed 1.0.0.8, but it still shows 1.0.0.5, I deleted the driver and reinstalled under 1.0.0.8 but still like that. Weird.)

Router: Actiontec V1000H
- It's a default modem/router from Telus

CPU: Intel i7 3770
MOBO: MSI Z77A-G43
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 @ 1600
HDD: 1.5TB SATA / 500GB SATA3
SSD: Intel 520 120GB
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 660 OC
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Thanks for any help

I had the same issues regarding a U-Verse connection. This is what worked for me by logging into my U-Verse router. I am now getting the Internet speed I am paying for.

1. I turned off "Mixed Mode" and made my WIFI strictly 802.11g
- Before it was broadcasting 802.11b and 802.11g (B and G mode by Default).
- If you have any devices that work only on 802.11b, you will probably have issues.

2. I turned my "Channel" setting back to "Auto" instead of specifying a certain channel between Channels 1 - 11.

3. I changed my "Power Setting" back to 400mW (Default). I changed the setting to 200mW.

The reason I changed the mW and Channel settings from Default was because I was trying to address some latency issues while running programs such as Netflix on my Roku. Not recommended in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

The download link for the original Realtek drivers is dead. There are newer drivers available, but they only support newer models of Wi-Fi card.

The drivers I am using right now are the ASUS 1.0.1.8 drivers. This is extremely frustrating, because the ASUS installation doesn't give me the option to let Windows handle Wireless connections.
