Hello all:

I have a Logitech Performance MX mouse and it is turning on my computer after the computer has been fully shutdown when it is connected to USB 3.0. With either a click of one of the buttons on the mouse or a slight movement of the mouse my computer mysteriously tuns on. While this makes for an interesting 'feature,' I much rather my computer stay off until I press the power button.

The computer is not in sleep mode when this issue occurs; but rather, it is has been shutdown, completely, via the start menu.

Moreover, this issue only occurs when the mouse is plugged into USB 3.0 and not when it is plugged into USB 2.0.

My computer utilizes the ASRock Z97 Extreme4 motherboard. I do not see an option in BIOS to configure or set a setting that would address this issue.

Thankfully,

Does this motherboard provide power to that port even while shut down? My Gigabyte mobo and many other manufacturers offer this feature for easy recharging of mobile devices.

Once you determine that, go check your BIOS. I have an option on my mobo that allows me to start the computer via the mouse or keyboard. I haven't personally been successful in getting it to work, but maybe its working in your case and you just need to disable it. Give it a shot and let us know if its still going on.
