Asrock extreme9 4960x stock
1500w psu evga supernova
2133mhz dominator platium 4x4 16gb
Raid 0 480gb neutron gtx
780ti sli

Its happened in 3 games so far, but crysis 3 had no issue it seemed. Thief, bf4, and counter strike source were the games. I changed out ram, nothing changed. Took out 1 gpu, nothing changed. Had random bsod though (when i had cpu at 4.2 and both gpus in sli) with a bug code 0x00000124. Bsod Has happened once, but havent seen it since. i put cpu back at stock and nothing changed (for fps).
Im putting evga precision and coretemp up now to see if there are any drops. I assume there would be for my gpu's because of the fps drops. Maybe its not getting the desired power? My temps are 50c for cpu, 75 to 82c for gpu. The fps drops would last for 10secs or more. I would drop to 30 to 40fps. I tried furmark on xtreme 8xmsaa for 30mins on one gpu, nothing bad happened. I ran p95 for a couple hours on blend and nothing bad happened. Not sure what else i to try aside from evga precision and coretemp right now to check clock and usage. I can only assume my psu is acting up, or bad mobo.

Did you try the more "basic" potential solutions such as Updating Drivers?

A PSU of that high level wouldn't fail, but it's very overkill. Your system probably only needs about 1000W PSU, not 1500. Having too much overhead will slowly reduce the efficiency of the PSU over time as it draws less power than it's designed to do.

Your drivers are most likely the problem. Did you try furmark on both GPUs, and both GPU's separately?

No. I will do furmark on the other gpu today, along with both. I did do a clean install of drivers yesterday and nothing changed. If the problem still persists after the furmark tests, is it safe to say its my psu? Im still wondering about that bsod code, though it could have been for the psu. The bsod happened mid game for bf4.

Unless your computer is randomly restarting W/O any bluescreen, it's not the PSU. Could be a faulty GPU or some other component.

Forgot to say i have a wd 1tb 10000rpm hdd for storage even thoigh that probably isnt the issue.

If it had actually been the harddrive there would be a massive failure and you prob wouldn't be able to boot up.

then take out the GPU's, use the iGPU, and see if you crash when playing somewhat powerful games (games that strain the iGPU). If it crashes then it could be something else.

You take the GPU's out.
You take the cables out.
You plug the cables into the motherboard I/O.
You turn on the computer.
Profit.
