I recently upgraded from a Phenom II 955 to the new I5 4690k and decided to buy a second fan for Push/pull. The original fan for push, and the Corsair SP120 High Performance edition for pull to the rear exhaust fan. I wonder if It's going to be a problem since the original fan is operating at a max 1600 rpm and the new one 2750 rpm.

Having two different fans will cause issues and I believe it has to do something with turbulence. Also, I have heard here that the Hyper 212 evo doesn't quite benefit that much from push pull.

If you want to do push pull, you need to stick with the same fans.

And also, just to let you know if you didn't already, the sp120 performance edition is quite loud.

Noise doesn't really bother me, since the slower fan is pushing air into the faster one, how does this create turbulence :o ? I could understand it if the fans were reversed tho.

Honestly I can't explain, but I understand from the people here that it is not reccomended.

hmm, I have monitored the temps for a bit now, and it seems to me that the temp has dropped quite a bit, 5-6 degrees or so. I will reply back if I see any "bad" results.

And also, the cfm ratings of the fan are not overly mismatching I think, the corsair having a 62.74 CFM rating and the CM 66 CFM. Oh well, maybe I should just use the fan for something else.

If you take a fan off and use it as a case fan, I would take the CM fan off, as the SP120 will most likely perform better on the heatsink vs the CM fan.
