gpu usage spiking to 68%

hi im using msi afterburner to monitor my gpu and even when im not running anything my gpu usage jumps to 68/69% for about a half a second and it does it over and over is this normal

You can get them from mod installers. You just have to look for trusted sources when you download something like that.

What do you call not running anything? Things are always running on your computer, open up task manager, go to the processes tab, look to make sure some game or something similar isn't running in the background. Sometimes certain games don't close properly when you exit them, and are still running in the background.

Also, post your specs.

It's not easy because usually your antivirus will not be able to detect it as a threat. It would be much easier to do a re install of windows because that's the only way to be sure that it's gone.
