Hey everyone, so I've run into a little issue with my new Intel Core 2 Quad CPU (q8300 @ 2.50GHz)
I was using this CPU in an old Asus motherboard that came stock with a desktop I bought about 3 years ago, along with a 430w PSU and a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT Graphics card.
Playing Minecraft I used to get 125-170 FPS with everything in my settings pushed to the max.
Now, with my new XFX motherboard, I only get around 15-30 FPS with the same settings. I'm very disappointed because I was getting blue screens with my old motherboard because the RAM I had installed on it couldn't cooperate with this CPU, now with a new Motherboard and RAM, it just doesn't perform as good. (I had 16 GB of RAM in the old one, now only 4, but I don't believe that matters. Correct me if I'm wrong.) but any other game I played had the same affect on it. Reduced FPS. :(
So what I'm asking here is if I have an insufficient Power Supply, or not enough RAM? Or what? I'm stumped. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. :)
(I don't overclock)

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
4.00 GB RAM installed
Windows 8.1 - 64 bit
Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT

I would say it's a typical driver issue. Have you installed motherboard drivers and gfx drivers after changing motherboard?

No, I have not yet. I will go check right now, and let you know what I find. Thank you very much for your help. :)

Yes, I just checked to make sure my heatsink is well in place, snug on the motherboard. When I play warframe, my CPU temps don't cap over 54 degrees. Idling, it's around 40-43

re install your drivers, and check after that, also check you have the latest bios, and when running a game open cpu-z just to check the cpu is running at its rated speed

I just finished Uninstalling + Re-installing all of the drivers on my PC, however, I have been searching for a way to update my bios for like, an hour now, and I can't find anything other than "Bios agent plus". but I don't have the money right now to buy anything.
