Power supply to gaming pc

My PC runs a little slow and I think I know why, but I just want to ask, I have a 550 power supply and I have a amd fx 9370 and a Radeon R9 290 and i have found that it is recommended 750 power supply. My question is, is that the cause of my low fps in games?

  1. Probably. What PSU is it?

here is a link to it https://www.komplett.no/xfx-proseries-core-edition-550w-psu/657685
  4. Holy mother. Dude a 9370 and a 290 alone without any other components at all besides mobo take 500w. And the very minimum recommended for a 290 is 650w. You're lucky with every else plug in you havent fried your system. Even if it isnt the PSU I would recommend switching it out ASAP

That PSU will work perfectly. But I'm not 100% sure if this is what is causing your problem. It could be since the components would throttle themselves down if they run too hot/ possibility of dying/ etc most have safety precautions in place.
