Should I buy a really good gaming desktop or should I buy a really good gaming laptop?
The third choice would be to get a $1000 desktop that can do 1440p gaming if possible and a really good budget ultrabook. I must tell you guys that I prefer the third option. Please let me know if this is a good choice. I really think for $1000 you can get a PC that blows the next gen consoles out of the water. I really only do 1080p gaming as I am planning on just getting a 1080p monitor for that $1000 budget. What kind of a PC can I get for $1000 including monitor? Can it do 1080p 60fps? Please use prices from either Canada Computers or NCIX.com Canada site. Thanks.

Why are you pairing an i7 with an R9 270? That is terribly unbalanced.

i have no clue what his budget is and since he's doing cad the i7 is great for rendering/editing and the r9 270 is actually pretty good.

CAD? Nowhere does OP state anything about doing CAD. If you're referring to the title, I do believe OP is saying that the currency is in Canadian currency. It appears this is primarily for gaming.

wow im sorry i was terribly mistaken i thought he just put he was just doing CAD software then in the description titling his budget.

Should I really wait for Nvidia's GTX880? Well, I am not getting this computer until next year so I might as well wait and see reviews for it. Is AMD better than Nvidia during this time or the other way around?

i doesnt really matter we dont know about the future cards yet. the r9 300's/gtx 800's are dropping next year and you can beat Amd will have the better price/performance like the gtx 780ti is the fastest by 13%(5-7fps in real life) yet 200-300$ more which makes the r9 290x(or r9 290 since its can match performance when overclocked) the much better price/performance.
