R9 290X Tri-X or DirectCU II

The Tri-X is better on the VRM temp. Everything else almost the same. Is it worth it going to the Tri-X for that? It's going to be cross fire and was planing to build a gaming rig with black/red theme in H440.

If you really want a red and black theme, then Asus or MSI are you only option.

I'd just get the DirectCU II because obviously its made by Asus and you get that reliable customer service. Plus it would suit your needs better so I'd recommend it over the Tri-X.

Did some more searching and found out the asus one heat pipes don't even touch some of the vrm?

Tri-X is pretty much the best cooling there is for 290X, directCU not so much.

I'm owner of r9 290x tri-x and temps are perfect under load and in hot room. So do not mess with asus sux cooling because you will have rly high temps with it. for performance i can play bf4 mp mantle 1080p ultra 80C in room hot more then 30C~ with 80-120FPS.

The ASUS design is very high quality, and generally beats all of the companies such as sapphire, evga, Gigabyte, and msi. I would go with the Asus.
