Windows XP loads very slow!

Hi every time I start my computer this screen appears after the S.M.A.R.T test and before Windows Logo appear and it takes up to 10 minutes for loading and then shows the Windows logo and everything from there works fine.. I'm able to login to my PC also.. but this initial 10-15 minutes is very frustrating for me especially when I want to update someone immediately.. please help me fixing this issue!! I would be grateful if anyone could help!!

Has it always been that slow? Do applications also take a while to load? Did it just start doing this? Also system specs/model information would be helpful.

Although honestly I want to say it is time to move from windows XP to at least Win 7 but that's just me. I will try to help you find out what the issue is.

It sounds like your computer is just showing it's age. What model/spec do you have? Any other issues with it? You could try a clean installation (you would need to backup all your data).
