We have a shed at the back of our house. My big brother and I decided to use it as workspace to start on our geeky projects (he's pursuing a engineer career and I changed my major computer science). The shed has no power so I want to know what could I use to add power in the shed.

The things I want to power up:
Desktop computer
DC power supply unit to test our electronic equipment we make.
Lights for the shed.
Fans for heat in the shed.

I did some research online and I came up with three choices:
Buy a generator
Solar power the shed
Use a very long extension cord to the shed from the house.

What is a better method? Any advice and suggestions will be great!

Thank you!

Extension cord!

Solar: Expensive. No sun a night when comp since majors are most active. Batteries? EXPENSIVE!
Genny: Expensive, noisy, smelly exhaust.

Run an extension cord properly. Find a thick quality cable, capable of long distances, and insulate the entire length with suitable conduit for protection from the elements.

Ps. I'm sure a budding engineer and comp science geek could have figured this out between them???

I was planning on the old fashion way but I thought there would be a better way. Thanks! :)
