Hello

I recently bought two Kingston KVR13N9S8/4 GB RAM sticks to run on dual channel for my ASUSTEK Computer Inc. Model V7-P7H55E but I can't seem to make them work, together or alone.

I forgot to mention how the failure manifests, it basically keeps looping in a reboot sequence as it tries to load Windows 7 64bit btw.

My older RAM was one Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2 GB RAM stick so I was wondering why the newer model wouldn't work. I checked for compatibility issues on Kingston's main site but the two seemed to be compatible together as far as I saw on here:

http://www.memorycow.co.uk/kingston-8gb-kit-4gb-x2-non-ecc-unbuffered-memory-ram-module-20140103002

I read around on similar issues and they mentioned maybe the voltage being a problem, but the older RAM used 1.5 exactly the same as the two newer models.

Others suggested updating BIOS, but unless I was wrong in selecting the proper update that didn't work either. Here's the site I downloaded the update with the newest date:

http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=V7-P7H55E&p=8&s=15&os=30&hashedid=tBVOF0rUcJP6ed8e

Could anyone knowledgeable enough help me please?

Hello,
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. Part number KVR13N9S8/4 is a Single Rank 4GB part, indicated in it's datasheet as 1R: http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR13N9S8_4.pdf . Since it is single rank (aka high density) it would not be compatible with the P55 chipset or first generation iCore processor. All of our currently manufactured 4GB memory modules are single rank, made with 4Gbit DRAM which is supported by Intel Sandybridge and later as well as AMD AM3+, FM2 and later. As a general guideline, if the motherboard supports single 8GB modules than it will support single rank 4GB modules as they are made with the same 4Gbit DRAM, some may need a BIOS update to provide support. Do they work individually? Do you have the latest BIOS? Might be they are newer sticks and using higher density ICs (memory chips), Kingston has been doing this with many of their models and they aren't compatible with older mobo chipsets - might PM KingstonHQ (the Kingston rep here on the forums, they should be able to confirm this or help getting the sticks running)

I'll add this to the original post too.

We are here to help and can always advise on compatible memory modules for your system or if outside our operating hours our memory search is available on our website, here: http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/options/ . If you are unable to locate your system than we may no longer support it but it can still be found in our 'Discontinued Models Search' here: http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/discontinuedsystems/Default.aspx . From there you will be able to find discontinued parts that are compatible with your system that may still be available from some resellers. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
