Hello,
My AMD A10-5800K is still running at it's maximum temperature of 74C when under full load. (the integrated gpu is off) I recently bought and installed the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and am wondering if I have done something wrong. I am concerned that I have put to much thermal paste (arctic silver 5) on because I can see a tiny bit around the edge of the CPU. I used the pea method. Even with the stock cooler I was seeing the same temperatures? Any ideas/suggestions?

Take a look at this: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html

That was a lifesaver for me and my 5800K. Just read the whole page, and it really helps.

I used Artic Silver 5 also, thought I screwed something up, thought the cooler wasn't on right- but then I checked with the software recommended in that article and it all made sense.

Hope that helps :)

Another thing to check is to make sure you peeled the plastic tab off the bottom of the 212EVO. Its clear plastic covering the base of the heat sink and its easy to overlook if you dont know its there. IF that is left on it really mucks up the cooler's ability to absorb heat from the chip.

The amount of thermal paste can deter the effectiveness of our Hyper 212 Evo or any heat sink for that matter. Can you also double check that you mounted the cooler correctly with no play between the heat sink and the scissor mounting bracket? There is a small notch on the heat sink that locks in place onto the bracket to ensure proper seating.

Another thing you can try is to make sure each screw is tightened in a star pattern.

I look forward to your response and hope I can help you with this.
