Hey everyone.

So here's my question, it's pretty simple. Which Power Supply should I go with?
Non-Modular
Modular
My motherboard uses a 24 Pin power connector and an 8 pin 12v power connector. I'm not really sure how much of a difference a modular power supply is compared to a non-modular, or even if it makes a large difference in cable management.

Semi modular helps with cable management , keeps the build looking clean.

The supplies both have a 24 pin and 8 pin for your board.

The biggest reason to consider non-modular, modular, and semi-modular PSUs is depending on the actual cables you will be using for easier cable management and less clutter (so increased air flow/less heat in case). If you have a larger case that has the side panel for hiding extra cables and/or will be using most of the cables anyway, then non-modular seems the way to go. You may want to consider modular if you plan on switching out cables for colors or lighted ones that go with your theme. Or if you want to go with a larger PSU with more cables than you currently need (but may need in the future), and want a cleaner setup.

So I assume that means that the semi-modular would be the better power supply to go with? I see no difference besides one being semi-modular.

Edit: Posted at the same time.

The promo code on the CXM you linked makes it effectively the same price as the non-modular, and if you're willing to consider the rebate, it actually becomes cheaper. Your case may determine how beneficial a modular psu is, but all other things being equal, it never hurts to go with a modular unit.

The semi is the better choice helps with the cable management , you will see why when you get it.

For cases with limited space, or builds you want to make as clean as possible, I suggest getting a modular power supply as it allows you to use only the cables you need.

Also, when looking for a power supply, I suggest getting something on tier 2b or above in this list, so you have a power supply that will last: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-su...

Thanks for the quick replies everyone! I'm not doing rebates, never have and never plan on doing them. As of now I'll be going with the semi-modular one which I'll buy tomorrow.

Edit: Oh yeah, and honestly I'm fine with using a tier 3 PSU. I know you're not supposed to go cheap on your PSU, but a budget is a budget.
