GPU Overclocking question

Hey, I'm overclocking my R9 290 with Gelid Icy Vision cooler using MSI Afterburner.

When I run furmark, I sometimes get this strange glitch where the FPS and temperatures drop by like 50% for a second or two, and this happens intermittently. However, when I run Unigine Valley with the exact same settings, it is perfect and has no artifacting or any other issues. So, I can achieve an enormous overclock if I benchmark in Valley, but not if I use Furmark.

Also, I get artifacts starting at much lower settings on furmark, where they are still not present in Valley.

What to do?

Solution
Think Furmark is just stressing the GPU more effectively, therefore you're seeing the artifacting in Furmark before Valley.
For the little difference on this card (because R9 290/X aren't the best of overclockers with the knowledge i have), i would make sure that your final settings doesn't artifact in at least Valley, Furmark is the extreme condition which your card will never hit in a game whereas Valley is more of a game-ish stress.

Hope this helps you in some way
