diablo3 starter edition

i'd installed the diablo 3 starter edition yesterday and decided to buy a hard copy (CD) of the game and upgrade my diablo 3. The question is, do i have to reinstall the game using the cd or just use the cd key to upgrade the game?im scared that after i bought the game and use only the cd key will not upgrade my diablo 3. I need someone to explain it to me and your help would greatly appreciated

The game should already have all the files. If you're using the battle.net client thingy, it'll just update if there is anything more needed.

Yes. That's what I did back when the original came out, and what I did when the expansion came out. The auto patcher will let you know if you need anything.

You are required to tie the game code to a battle.net account then install by cd or download. Download is probably better since the game has been patched a lot since the disks were made.
