The site does not say anything about that on the bios update to f4..
Do you really think this will solve the problem?

The Haswell Refresh cpu are part of the 4th gen cpu. Gigabyte just hasn't worded it to said Haswell Refresh. But it means that.
Yes you need to do a BIOS update.
You can skip F4 and go to F5 directly.

I dont see an f5 update on the GA h81m d2v site.. Will the f4 update work?

I'm not sure. You can check by download CPU-Z and look it up in the motherboard tab.

The motherboard will work with F4 or F5. But F5 is already out, you might as well use the latest one. Are you sure you can't find it, i can find it

At the moment i can't check cpu z..
So it didn't work because it came with an earlier version than f4?
I am asking because i have been thinking my cpu arrived broken and the store technician told me that the chances are very small that it came doa.
