Thanks for your replies but the fact is I don't have the money right now to spend 70-80quid on a new psu, also the existing psu cit 700ub has been in operation for over 12months now with no problems... In addition to this on calculating the power consumption changes when replacing my cpu and gpu I will be using 25watts more with the gtx 560 ti than my previous gts 250 but the cpu moving from Athlon x2 6000+ to Athlon x4 640 will reduce consumption here by 30 watts meaning overall I will be using 5 watts less than I have been for the last 12 months, surely meaning less taxing on my psu?
I do understand there are bad reviews and people don't seem to like the cit 700ub however I am using it on a system using around 500 watts rather than their advertised 700 so it's not a case of putting it under pressure and expecting 700watt stability, I do appreciate your thoughts and opinions but as it's already managed this for the last 12 months with no issues I don't see much reason to spend a lot of money replacing it
It may said 700W,but a lot of cheap PSUs actally cannot support the wattage they say it can because their internals are often bad quality. In this case, this PSU can support 400-500W max.
Like I said,it is on you to choose if you want to stick with the CIT 700 or buy a new PSU.
My recommendation is not to install the 560 Ti untill you get a new, better quality PSU,like a Seasonic M12 II 620W.
Quick note: the GTS 250 uses 450W,and the 560 Ti uses 500W,so it's not 25W,it's 50W.
