hi, i don't know how much wats i need for this build:
CPU - i5 4690 3.4ghz ( turbo 3.8ghz)
GPU - asus radeon r9 270x 2gb
RAM - crucial ballistix 2x4gb 1600mhz,cl9
Motherboard - Gigabyte ga-h87-d3h
HDD: WD Blue 3.5'' 1TB SATA3 7200RPM 64MB
case: Corsair 200r

There are calculators out there that can do this for you. However I would guess that 650W would be more than sufficient - possibly overkill.

500w is a safe min as you probably won't draw over 350w or so at any given point. 650w or more would allow for comfortable sli in the future.

agreed. 500W is easily enough. But I'd grab a 550-600W PSU in case you upgrade that PSU.
