Hi, I recently bought an Asus r9 270x directCU II TOP and it appears that my old mobo doesn't support pci-E 3.0 :\.

My current specs are:
* Asus r9 270x directCU II TOP
* Antec HCG-620M

So I need a motherboard, CPU and RAM. Can anybody recommend me these components, that are compatible and work well with my 270x?

I'm not looking for a super high-end build, the less money I use, the better. Maybe an Ivy bridge i3 CPU + a corresponding mobo?

Update: About how much I'm willing to spend... The most important things are that 1) the mobo is compatible with my 270x (old one wasn't); 2) CPU doesn't bottleneck the GPU in most gaming situations.

But to give an exact number... I guess I could spend about 200 pounds (for the CPU+mobo+RAM).

And I would prefer Intel CPUs (haven't really never used AMD nor heard anyone of my aquaintances use it, maybe there's a reason for it), but I will look into the FX-6300.

You could go with the Ivy bridge or even the newer Haswell i3's. It all depends on what the most is you're willing to spend here. A good combo that I think pairs nicely with a 270x would be an FX-6300 and a midrange AM3+ motherboard like a GA-990FXA-UD3. That puts you a bit over $200 but like I said it depends on what your limit is and what kind of gaming or development you'll be doing.
