Folks, I have been searching for hours and cannot find an answer to this. I have only one PCIe x16 slot left on my pc. I am looking for an ethernet adapter to fit that slot. Everything I find out there is either for PCI or for PCIe X1. Does anyone know which ethernet adapter will work in this slot and not leave my pockets empty?

Thanks!

It is a Dell Precision T1600. Slot 4 is the one available.

Is there a specific X1 card that you can recommend? I would like to go on the lower end money wise. Thanks.

Thanks correct the computer does have a network card. This is for a secondary network. I went with the Broadcom BCM5751 because there was a review that someone had an issue with the Realtek and his Dell.

Ok folks I got good news and bad news. The good news is that my Broadcom BCM5751 adapter arrived. The bad news is that when I install it on the PCIe X16 slot, the system boots up to the bios fine but I never get to the windows logo. I tried removing it and re-inserting it two times.
