Hello, I am upgrading a 4 year old system. it looks like my old RAM is compatible, but how can I know for sure? I am building an I5-4590 / LGA1150 CPU on a Gigabyte GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H mobo (Z97 chipset).

My old RAM is 8GB (4x2) Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 996826

Thanks for any help!

The whole point of having standards is for parts to be interchangeable. Barring the occasional odd compatibility quirks that nobody can predict unless they had specific experience with the exact items involved, you should be able to use any DDR3 in any DDR3 system.
