Hi im currently running a ASROCK Z77 Pro4 with a ASUS R7260 X and they appear to be having some compatibility issues (the screen is just black unless windows is started in safe mode). I'm under the impression that its the bios at fault as both the asus support gives a link to a bios update and the ASRock bios changelog implies that there have been VGA improvements.

The problem however is that I'm unable to actually do anything about it as when I run the ASrock bios update it says "Error: unable to load driver" and when i try to run the asus VBIOS update it says "Vista OS requirements [despite being run in win 8] : Due to Microsoft vista... ... this application requires to be run in administrator mode" which still appears when run in admin mode.

I should note that all this is done in safe mode as that is the only way im able to get the GPU to output anything at all.

Edit: I have now updated the BIOS with the asrock download however the problem stilll persists. Any help with the asus VBIOS update would still be appreciated!

Thanks that did help me update the BIOS however that hasn't solved the problem. Any Idea how to get the other update to work?
