Is it worth getting gtx 860m instead of gtx 850m ?

the gtx 860m is abt 100 pounds more expensive than the 850m but according to my research it also has better performance. Is it worth getting it when I want to play games like max payne 3, far cry 3, metro last light, witcher 2 at medium presets with little or no lag ?

The Geforce 860m is quite a bit better, it will perform about 20% better, and even better if it is the Maxwell version. If you want to use the computer for more than 1 year, i would recomend the geforce 860m, because its a good investment ;)

gtx 850 is an entry level for gamer's. you cannot play the game such as Thief(2014), Watch Dogs (2014), Company of Heroes 2 (2013), Guild Wars 2 (2012) or even sleeping dogs (2012) or Crysis 3 even on ,medium quality setting (considering low, medium, high and ultra settings on 1080p). so if you want your PC (laptop or desktop) using about 4 years or even more, I strongly recommend to buy GTX 870m that performs almost 200% better. having almost 200% pixel rate, 220% texture rate, memory clock speed 5000 Mega hertz against only 1800 Mhertz. this outstanding graphic card runs Crysis 3 on 26.7 frame per second against 14 for GTX 850. anyway I do not think GTX 860 is an apt investment at all when choosing between gtx 850 and high perf gtx 870!
