Im looking at making a totally new system as my current one is 5 years old and doesnt let me enjoy my games on maxed out graphics.

I intend to watercool and overclock as it's something I've always wanted to do. This is also a build to last me 3-4 years.

Preliminary build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6MT2WZ

Case: Corsair 900D
CPU: i7-4930K
Mobo: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition (If only the standard rampage IV didnt look terrible...)
Ram: NFI!!!!
GPU: 2x GTX 780 Ti

Notes/Questions:
- Are there any black motherboards other than the Rampage IV Black edition? I cant stand all the gaudy colours of other high end boards, to the extent that the extra money for the black edition seems almost worth it.

- I have no idea what ram to get, other than 4x8GB sticks for quad channel goodness. I was looking at some Mushkin 2133 ram because I hear great things about Mushkin, but seems like the stuff I was looking at is now out of production. I was also considering Ripjaw and Trident ram, but aesthetically it rubs me the wrong way. I'd like to use Corsair Dominator ram, but it just seems too overpriced for what you get.

- Until last week I was debating whether or not to go with 2x Radeon R9 290's, but I hear that there isnt much performance gain from them when watercooled and overclocked compared to the 780 Ti. Is that actually true?

- Would there be much issue with buying one GTX 780 Ti now, and then another one 10-12 months down the track? Would I get compatibility and availability issues? Am I just better off buying both now?

- Does it matter what brand of GPU I buy, considering I'm going to be taking off the air cooler and putting on a waterblock instead?

Why are you planning to go X79 in the first place? It's going to be outdated in two weeks with X99 anyways, and there will be plenty of new motherboards to choose from when the new platform comes out.

Mushkin Redline is definitely some good stuff. Corsair Dominator Platinum is extremely overpriced and all you get is a fancy heat sink and not much else. Also consider G.Skill Ares.

I'd go with the 780Ti personally, the R9s are notorious for heating issues unless you get one with a monster cooler like a Power Color Devil 13 or Sapphire Tri-X.

I somehow missed that this was happening. You just saved me some serious buyers remorse! :D

I am looking for something that is either black or silver if possible, but cheers for the suggestions :)

I'm intending to use EKWB watercooling blocks, regardless of GPU. Is there much difference to be had between brands (asus/sapphire etc) if I'm taking the stock cooler off anyway?

That I don't know, I've never setup a full loop before so someone else will have to answer that one.
