Hello everyone,

SO.. sometime I want to keep the computer on for the night, to download something mostly.

But the GPU do noise and I can't stand it because I focus on it and can't fall a sleep.

I saw on Gigabyte site that there is "Quiet Mode" on this GPU.
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=...
The only problem is that I need to open the PC case and then switch it to quiet mode.

I wonder if there is any way to make the GPU make less noise on the night?

More about : change quiet mode open case gigabyte 290 windforce

There doesn't seem to be a way, can you not open your computer?

Try using the Afterburner software to set a custom fan profile so the fans run at a lower speed when the card is idle.

In Afterburner you can actually manually set the fans lower for when you go to bed. The difference with this and @Coozie's solution is that you will have more control over the fans but you may also forget to turn it on/off and you may use more/less power than you want during games or idling.

I am using MSI AFTERBURNER all the time to set my fans better.
Right now I made it like this (is it good BTW?)

How to set it to be quiet?

Just pull all of those little dots down.

If you use that, setting and during night you are not running any gpu intensive operations on it it should reach minimum temperature and so also minimum speed of fans, by that curve its 40%. If it's still too noisy even with that 40% speed that mean you wont be able to make it quieter as it's already at minimum.
I think GPU's generally do not have turn off fan option for safety reasons (ofc there may be exceptions).

So in short if you reached minimum speed of fans and it still to noisy no quiet mode will help you, that quiet and uber mode is about setting of maximum speed of fan gpu can run on which you are not hitting during night anyway.

I thought about something.

I also have IGP on my MOBO (Gigabyte H81-HD3).
So can I connect the screen also from the IGP and when I want to left the PC on for the night I will disable the GPU and enable the IGP.
Will it work?

Or... I can also unplug the cable that connect the screen to the GPU then the GPU will not work? Because I don't need GPU while the computer on for the night (the screen is off).

If you're going to go through all this trouble just put your computer to sleep at night and the fans will pretty much turn off.
