I plan on buying this monitor http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-GL2450HM-Widescreen-Multim...

If i have my monitor connected to my pc via DVI and then my pc connected to my tv via hdmi running through a gtx 780 will they display simultaneously? I have a desk in the corner with my monitor and a tv on the wall infront of my sofa. So the idea is desk for gaming sofa for movies etc but want them to run together so others can see on big screen if im at the desk. I've never ran multiple displays before really and just wanted to check before buying a monitor thats not adequate. Cheers, ps any help on what i should do about sound setup for this to be effective?

Do you want them to display as one display being an extension, or one display being a mirror of the other? Both displays will display, but you can change how the second one compares to the first one. It can mirror the first display or be an extension.

Ideally both, in case i want to use the tv as second screen whilst im playing games. But just using the hdmi for the second display output will work then?

it should work fine, I use DVI for one monitor and displayport for another and it works perfectly fine with a 660TI I use.
