Don't know if this is the correct section for posting this but there wasn't a "troubleshooting" category so I'll just post here.

My PC just arrived [it was sitting in my aunt's house from when I still lived there] after about 6 months of not being turned on. Well, when I turn it on all the fans spin just fine but I get no display and no beeps whatsoever. What I've already tried:

Testing out without the memories. I tried running it with no memories and it gave me a beep error so problem is probably not in the memories.

Tried clearing out the CMOS. No change.

Tried testing with GPU and integrated, problem persists in both cases.

My specs:

Asrock N68-S
Phenom II 945 with a Hyper 212 Evo
4GB DDR2 RAM
GPU 4670

Some peculiar things:

PC only turns on when lying down. If straight up, pressing the power button will do nothing. Actually once I tried pressing the power button with the PC straight up, it didn't turn on, then I lied it down and it turned on without me even pushing the power button again.

Another thing is that sometimes when I plug the power cord back in, and flip the on switch in the PSU, the PC will turn on without me even touching the power button.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like an unseated CPU heatsink, or loose CPU power cable. Ensure the 4 or 8 pin CPU power cable is firmly plugged in. If no change, and you feel okay doing it, remove the cpu heatsink, clean it with a lint-free wipe and alcohol, then reapply thermal paste (if you have some. If not, do not attempt).

EDIT: Might also be a short caused by the motherboard standoffs. Make sure there arent any that are screwed into the case that the motherboard isn't fastened to.

I tried breadboarding but it didn't work either. Actually tried removing the SATA cables, one of them didn't come out properly and took the SATA slot with it and bent one of the pins of where the slot was standing. I tried putting it back there but apparently it won't work anymore since now when I try to turn on the PC I get a beep at 1 second intervals.

Managed to screw up the PC more than it already was. Damn.
