Is it worth buying a GPU at launch? Planning on buying GTX 880 when it comes but I want the 880ti if that one is coming later (Only if it comes 2 months later MAX.)
if anything the ti would be a die shrink, hence mid 2015 at the earliest. Or it'll be a response to a fast amd card. So I doubt with 2 months regardless. But no one knows, if the 880 is a cut down chip then there is a possibility, if it is not a cut down chip then there's no chance without a die shrink.
well, prices usually are highest at launch. Some notable exceptions, such as when Bitcoin miners go nuts for a particular model, but usually discounts creep in a few months after availability - as well as more powerful models.
Did some quick Google searches and it seems that there's a chance the GTX 880 will become available in September, but there is absolutely no details on a GTX 880 Ti yet.
