Looking to build a gaming/general use system with around 1k Budget

Hey there guys, I haven't built a pc in just under 7 years and just wanted to know if these specs would be decent enough to run most games in high/ultra or could i switch a few things around to get it abit cheaper? At the moment the price is abit high....!

There is no reason to get the X79 mobo. If this is just for gaming then you can grab something like this:

If you plan to do some video editing or 3d design then you would benefit from the i7 4790k

Also, if you want to gamble on the chance that games will start to use the i7's hyperthreading or see some benefit from the larger cache then you can drop the extra $100 for the i7.

I was speaking to a friend of mine and he said that an i7 processor would help me stream games? Or could the i5 stream just as well without lag and good frames?

You could squeeze a 290x for 200 more if you follow my ideas first 8 gb plenty get hyperdrive fury WHITE 2 times 4 Gb get a i5 4670 go with an xfx 290x um just he a 600 watt power supply that's all I can say to you hope this helps o 290x beats 780

The i7 is better for streaming/video editing but the i5 does pretty good itself. If you are planning on streaming a lot then get the i7 otherwise the i5 will do great for the occasional streaming.

If you did want an i7 then just throw an i7-4790k onto that my build.
