What country do you live in?? Also you will not be able to get a $650 custom built computer to run anything with Ultra settings except low-intensive games like Minecraft or older games. It just won't happen. You most likely will be able to run most games on Medium, (probably not Crysis 3) and some on High. Here is a system I just made using pcpartpicker, that is the closest you will be able to get to what you want. If you want me to change something I can tweak it.

OP PLEASE do not even click that link. That build is poorly designed and ols tech. DO NOT mess with it. You can certainly max Skyrim for $650

$650 is almost not even a budget gaming computer, you can't max Skyrim with $650. Considering any setup for that amount just reaches the recommened settings for the game, let alone on Ultra. I am sorry but it's not going to happen, go back to fairy land.

Your sacrificing his entire PC performance with the i3 by giving him the better graphics card?? How is that better? Also I was a little dumb about the fairy land thing but I don't think your point is entirely valid. As a side note, the projected Wattage needed is 293W, while you have a 600W PSU in the build?? He would need 350-400W at the most for this system.

Edited for language

No I am not at all. The i3 will run all modern games without issues. It will not bottleneck anything and will feel exactly the same as an i5 or i7 in generic tasks. Sorry you are plain wrong.

Nothing less than a 500w PSU will have the required connectors. You also NEVER want the PSU to exceed 80% load. This PSU is a good quality unit which will give him room to grow, and is very well priced.

OP, I recommend buying this build.

Also I don't think the RAM is a good fit for this system, its one of those companies that I have never heard of. I have made a few systems and I think he should have an i5 at least for newer games that are coming out. I helped my brother research and build a budget gaming computer not too long ago, his budget was a little more but not by much. He decided to go with the i3 which I told him was a mistake, when we set it up he loaded up Mount & Blade, one of his favorites and smiled at me as the FPS counter went well above 120 and stayed there. Later he played some Rust and his FPS was barely above 30 FPS. He bought an awesome GPU but a bad CPU, I am trying to keep the OP from making the same mistake, you can't buy the best GPU on the market and then a crappy i3 or AMD CPU and expect your CPU to be beast. You NEED to find a balance.

AGAIN, WATCH THE LANGUAGE

The RAM is perfectly good for the system. ALL Ram is made in one or two factories in asia. Basically any DDR3 RAM is the same exact quality. THis is a well known fact. Sorry, you are wrong.

He does not need an i5 at all. He would have to sacrifice WAY too much else and it would not even show any improvements.

Even an i7 will struggle in rust or DayZ. Those games at VERY poorly coded. The i3 is not at fault there. An i3 is not crappy. You need to chill out man. I'm really sorry and not trying to be rude but you have no clue what you are talking about.

OP is not making a mistake.

Also please list your brother's ENTIRE build. I would like to see it.

You have no clue. I'm sorry. They use THE SAME TECH. Being dual core (plus hyper threading) or being quad core has NOTHING to do with being older or newer.

I coppied it to a new window and make it work.

I'm sorry, but you clearly don't understand here. He wants to play Skryim and ESO. These games DO NOT like AMD CPUs at all. An i3 will beat an fx8350 in skyrim.

Your RAM is slower than mine and that motherboard is known for overheating.

The i3 really is the way to go here. OP please have a look at my build. It is what you want to do.

It is not unplayable, but it is significantly better with an i3. Why get an fx6300, when for the same money he can get a CPU that will run the game much better?

Also his AVG fps is only 45. An i3 will lock the game at 60fps.

There really is no argument for the fx-6300 at all here.
