My new build occasionally won't turn on

So, I finished the second computer build I've ever completed yesterday. I turned it on, and it worked perfectly. I installed Windows 8.1 without a hitch, turned off the computer, and went to sleep.
Today, I tried to turn it on and, well, it didn't turn on. Weird, considering that I didn't change anything between last night and today. But anyways, I switched off the Power Supply Unit and left it alone for about thirty minutes. When I came back, I switched on the PSU, pressed the power button and it turned on. Once again, I hadn't changed anything.
This has been happening on and off all day today. I have no idea what's wrong with it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If anyone could help me, that would be pretty awesome.

Solution
Start by checking your power options inside the control panel. Turn off letting the PC turn itself off or the screen going to sleep If that doesnt help, open your case and check your power connections to make sure they are correct. Also, make sure your mobo is sitting correctly on the standoffs. You may have 1 wrong causing the problem.

Oh my god, thank you so much! My motherboard seemed to be a bit wobbly, so I remounted it and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks again!!!!
