CPU and MOBO compatibility

Hello,
Just wondering if this cpu will work on this motherboard (i have enough power from my psu)

No, I don't think they do, either a z87 board or z97 will do

Thanks for the fast reply, how can I know for sure if they are compatible or not? I just find it strange since the msi page says "CPU (Max Support) i3/i5/i7" for that mobo.

There are different chipsets, the cpu you listed is a z97 chipset, your mobo does not support that chipset
