C drive red line. Pop up says dangerously close to full.
I truly have no idea what is okay to delete to create more space.
I do not and have never downloaded music, movies, any kind of media. I do save documents, files and pictures. But I'm not seeing those in the C drive, it's a bunch of stuff that I have no idea if I should delete or not.
Example: pagefile.sys Size 3,713,292kb I have no idea what this is or means.
The fear is that I will delete something that makes the computer and programs that I have work.
Problem 2 is that I tried to delete or empty the recycle bin and it would delete. No message just nothing disappears.
I have Windows Vista desktop 4 years old.
I use AVG and Norton.
Would greatly appreciate direction or a point in the right direction.

well first off, windows vista has been known to be terrible. And 2nd, you can't use Norton AND AVG at the same time, get rid of Norton (terrible antivirus) and stick with AVG.

install GetFolderSize on your computer, run it so you can see what is hogging up all that space.

If it were me, I would run ccleaner and let it delete all your temp files. Google ccleaner, download the software, install it on your system and let it run. I would uncheck a couple of options for the sake of convenience:

Cookies (some banking sites require it)
Recently Typed URLS
Recent Documents

Trying it now.
Is the file that I mentioned that is over 3 mil kb concerning to anyone but me?

Page File is set by your OS unless you manually specify the size - I wouldn't feel the need to change it from being automatic. You'll be surprised how much stuff ccleaner finds and removes
