Hi all,
I asked you all a question a bit ago about a Sun Fire x2200 Server to desktop build, and got some really good answers here.
The fans are extremely loud. We are talking like 70-80dB @ 5ft. with the case open. Just a bit less than that with it closed.
I am looking to get some quieter cooling devices, but cant seem to find one that will fit. The processors are AMD Opteron 2356, which is Socket F 1207. BUT, they do not have the standard hole pattern to attach a socket F heatsink.
The hole pattern is a 4-bolt pattern with approximate dimensions of 85.5mm x 40mm:
Here is a picture of the MoBo with the heatsink taken off:
As you can see, it does not have any of the standard dimensions.
I have the retaining bracket on the back of the mobo, but just cant seem to find a heatsink type that will fit this pattern, what do you all suggest?
