Im just wondering if i can run these for a combined 16 gigs, they both say that they run at 1333, just different manufacturers.

System Specs (If Needed):

Amd Fx-6300 6-Core 3.5ghz
ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
2x4Gb Corsiar Vengance Blue 1333mhz
PNY Gtx 770 2gb
Samsung 840 EVO 120gb SSD (Windows 7)
Western Digital Black 1Tb 7200Rpm (Storage)

If you need anything else just ask!

Thanks in advance,

Colin!

Solution
Best to get a full set of the amount you want, but if you have the sticks, give 'em a try, if any problems, give me a shout, can often get them to play nice with voltage/timing adjustments (and let me know the model #s)

You won't physically damage anything, but you may run into boot issues (no boot, boot loop) up front. If it does boot, you'll want to do a memory test to make sure they're all running at the right speed and voltage with no errors, and note any unusual system behavior that you weren't experiencing before (crash, BSOD, freezes, etc). There's really only one way to find out if they'll work, and that's to try it. Not trying to scare you, but if you do a little searching even here on this site, you'll find hundreds of entries relating RAM issues with mixed sets. Of course there are probably tens of thousands (at least) of people who haven't posted because they did it and it worked fine.

I looked but didn't find any tutorials or stickys on taming mixed RAM sets - you should write one. In fact, you could include as a new subsection when you update the 2010 "Memory FAQ" sticky. Call it "Tradesman1's Guide: How to force RAM to your will."

Excellent! Now you might want to run a memory test on it like MemTest. Booting and matched speeds are a good start - need to make sure they're going to do the rest of their job without producing a bunch of errors, and keep an eye on your system behavior.

Alright, thanks for all the help guys! Wish i could pick you both as the solution! Ill run some tests and keep an eye on my system, if i see anything wrong or have any questions then ill be sure to ask!

Thanks,

Colin

No sweat - I'm not hunting badges unless a cash reward comes with them, and Tradesman1 already has all of them. For the memory usage, I wouldn't worry about it. During idle time, your system is going to running various system and process checks that utilize RAM...sorry, DRAM! You can go to your Task Manager and open up the Processes tab to see what's going on inside. You can also check the Resource Manager to see if anything hinky is going on.
