graphic card not compatible with my version of windows

i have had the same card in my pc for 3 years and now all of a sudden i get an error saying my video card, catalyst control center, is not compatible with my version of windows. why is that? my card is a sapphire radeon X1600 pro PCI -e. any ideas ? my version of windows is vista 32 bit sp2

That's not right. Try uninstalling the gfx driver, re-booting, and installing the latest driver for that card and OS.

If that still fails, it may be that the card finally died.

Yeah, that's 'cause of the OS being Vista. Support stopped for that back in the dark ages... lol.

come on now I still run a vista rig with out issues well just one called amd funny thing is with this 7 I have to rob xp and vista files to get some things to work [dll's] why 7 has these removed from it is beyond me ?? as far as I see it xp and vista is more compatible friendly then 7 .. and yes I was one of the thousands that wrote amd hate mail for that driver issue

something don't work on 7 just copy and paste 7's short commings from xp or vista and now it works fine

I meant that sort of 'tongue in cheek'. I used Vista for a long time, before I finally gave it up. Now I'm hesitant to give up Win7. I guess I'm a late adopter.
