Cannot get audio to work

So, I use my computer as an alarm. It is set to play music every morning and has done successfully for a while now. I put my PC on hibernate, and the alarm wakes it up and plays the music. However, over the past few days, the alarm has failed to go off. I've woken up and the computer is on but no music is playing. I then discovered I had lost all sound until I rebooted the PC. I have tried to resolve this issue, by going into 'services.msc' and checking the startup type. Both the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder have automatic startup types. I changed the Log On setting to 'this account:' and then Administrator as pressing the start button gave me an error message reading 'Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.' I am now stuck with a red cross next to the speaker on the taskbar and I am unable to have any sound. The Windows troubleshooter is no help as it simply tells me 'One or more audio service isn't running'.
Any help is extremely appreciated as I am stuck now with no audio.
Thanks.

Nope, I think it may be due to the fact I changed the Log On setting. Would you be able to do me a favour please? If you don't mind, could you go to run, type in services.msc, scroll down to Windows Audio, double click that, and click on the 'Log On' tab and tell me what setting yours is on? Thank you in advance!
