I just installed my second MSI R9 280X 3G into my system. I was expecting an increase in in-game FPS but the FPS averages about the same as without Crossfire. I don't believe that it is due to overheating because both cards have not exceeded 80 Degrees.

System Info

Mobo: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0
CPU: FX-9370
GPU: MSI R9 280X 3G (x2)
PSU: CORSAIR RM Series RM850 850W
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
OS: Windows 8.1

Nothing in my system is OC.

Please Help!

For AMD it's CCC but I have already checked that Crossfire is enabled.

I originally had them setup in the first and second slots but that was too close for my comfort so i switched to first and third. I checked FPS before and after the change and it seems to be unchanged.

This may be it because according to MSI Afterburner I was only using 3.5GB of VRAM, while playing, when together both cards have 6GB.

How would i go about testing if the crossfire bridge is not working. It says that the cards are in crossfire in GPU-Z.

You're typically not going to use over 2GB of VRAM unless you're multi-monitoring. I'd think its working from what I've heard from you - if you can enable CrossFire in CCC. What game were you playing? Maybe its not optimized well for CrossFire, I've read that certain games do worse with SLI for some strange reason. Try looking up some benchmarks in CrossFire with the game you're testing in.
