Xeon E3 worth it for gaming?

Hi my pc currently has a terrible CPU in it the specs that matter for this is CPU pentium 2.8ghz and my gpu gtx 770 phantom so i was wondering is it worth upgrading to xeon e3 1270? Or an i5 3470 i use my pc for gaming (dota counter strike minecraft etc.) thank you in advanced Gregor,

Ok then. If the Xeon is cheaper then go for it. In games you won't see much performance difference between the two CPU's, I advised the i5 as it is usually cheaper.

Thanks for the quick reply! :) the i5 is £50 more exspensive so I will go for the xeon also i heard hyper threading can slow performance in some games should this beg a problem also there is a 3570 up is this better?

A website (i have bought from before) that recycles old servers the xeon had been used for 2 weeks when the company went into liquidation
