Recently, I have noticed that my CPU temps have been rising, so I decided to replace the stock fan with a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Evo, but the temperatures have either stayed the same, or increased!

The air coming out of the PC is below room temperature, so maybe the CPU's sensor is faulty? Please help, I am worried.

I use the 'AI Suite II' to check my CPU temps (comes with my motherboard), along with other programs such as SpeedFan, but they all show the same temperature.

Have you check the cpu voltage?

I checked using 'Open Hardware Monitor' and it says that i'm using 3.312V

you are not using 3.312V for Vcore. If you did the CPU would fry.

Have a read of this : http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understandin...

This explains how to read the CPU temps for AMD. Since the FX and APU's it has gotten harder to read the temps correctly. So please read this post to clear things up for you.

1.The room is at 24c
2.Underload, I get around 50-55c (The temperature sometimes drops by a couple degrees, even if I was doing nothing at the time)

Now Asus Suite II is saying that Vcore is at 1.116V...

I'm using AMD OverDrive, and it says my CPU frequency for all cores is 3813MHz, but in the BIOS my target frequency is 3500MHz. Could it be an error? The BIOS also shows that my frequency is 3500MHz

Use CPU-Z to check the core speed. If you are running 3.813 it is most likely because of AMD overdrive is upping the frequency. Remove AMD Overdrive, restart and check the frequency with CPU-Z. If the core frequency is still the 3.813 then you must have another program that you tried to OC with. It may even be the one from Asus. Either way remove the other OCing program and restart and check again with CPU-Z

This is more like what it is supposed to be. This voltage level is fine.

If under load you are getting 50-55°c then you are not overheating and there is no heat issues.

Is there a reason why my idle temps are high though?

I have uninstalled both, AI Suite II and AMD OverDrive, restarted the PC, yet CPU-Z still says the CPU is running at 3.813Mhz

do you have cool and quiet enabled in the bios? if not this would be a reason. Next the coolermaster TX3 is marginal at best at trying to cool a FX 6 or 8 core processor because of the amount of heat they generate. Add on top of this your CPU was/is OCed a little, this generates more heat.

next thing to consider is Case air flow. make sure you have all wires tucked into the back panel of the case. this lets the air flow freely from front to back of the case. make sure you have an exhaust fan at the rear of the case. If possible have one in the front of the case for an intake. this will feed the case cool air and make it easier for the rear fan to remove the hot air.

Do you think I should worry about the heat though?
You mentioned that it wasn't overheating, but the stock cooler used to give me around 30-40c.
Thank you for all your help so far.

you may need to remove the new cooler and clean the CPU and cooler, then reapply thermal paste and reinstall the cooler. It is possible that the cooler was not seated properly.

I reapplied the thermal paste (added less this time, like the size of a bb pellet) a few hours ago, and made sure the cooler was on the CPU, locked in

Pretty much the same.
I get 57c playing MW2 which i think is full load

What are the rpm's of the fan on the cooler? The Fan should get to around 2600 RPM's at that temp. MW2 will not put a full load on the CPU. Try using Prime95 or Intel Burn test to put a load on the CPU. Let either run for at least 15 mins then look at the temp. Also make sure all wires are out of the way and case fans are working. <-- VERY important. Do you have any case fans?

My fan is at around 2100rpm. On the box it says "Fan Speed - 800-2200 RPM (PWM) ± 10%" (the ± symbol means + or - btw)

When I run the load tests, the CPU goes to 63+ after 1 min (I stopped it at that point, got worried).

I don't have a modular PSU so it's kinda hard to sort the wires out, it's not a massive bundle, but it's kinda messy.
Would you recommend any youtube tutorials on how yto tidy it?

I have 4 case fans, all of which work (not sure of their speed). The fans came with the case - 1 outtake, 3 intake (2 of the intakes are turned on with a button, i've tried seeing if it will drop the temperature before I got the new cooler, but the temps didn't change. I will test the temperatures with them on now).
