Samsung Data Migration question

I have an existing Evo 64g SSD as C: with a 2tb HDD partitioned into a D: (300g) and an E: (1.6tb) with all of my user and program folders/installs on the D: partion and just the OS on the SSD. Due to the small OS SSD user profiles and programs were redirected to the D: partition at setup.

I am now upgrading to a new Evo 500g SSD. Am I correct in my understanding that the Samsung Data Migration software should be able to clone the OS C: drive to the new SSD (about 45g) and then be able to create a second D: partition off just the 300g section of my HDD that could then migrate the redirected User and Program installs/data with relationships intact to a corresponding 300g partition on the SSD?

Any gotcha's that I should be aware of?
