What's the maximum spec of graphics card the Dell precision 670 can utilise?

Hello, I'm trying to work out what the best option for gpu upgrade for dell 670.
I currently have a the quadro fx3400, I'd like to replace this but
don't want to get a card that'll cause a bottleneck. I've seen a cheap quadro 4000
with 2gb which is tempting - but would my 670 function properly using this?
If not - what's the maximum card I can put in. . .
I have 2 x 670s from a previous business & I'm in the process of
'Maxing out' one of them using the other as donor e.g. turning into a dual Xeon, more ram etc

Will be running adobe cs3 & 3D studiomax under win7 64bit.

Any advice appreciated.

I have a dell 670 workstation also !!!

I've adding a 8 Gb ram in this machine and the windwos 7 is beacaming corrupted.

So i did a lot of test and misery to understand that comme from my GV Fx 3450 Nvidia 256mb.

So i want to put another GC buèt cheap and not as K4000 (700$), could you advise me for a GC please ! its urgent.

If you can get a K4000 near that price I would recommend that over the 4000. Generation changes in Professional cards can make huge differences in performance for Pro applications. Also the K4000 uses less power than the quadro 4000 and the fx3400 while being faster than both. It looks like you can use almost any card as long as you have the power connectors needed for it and enough space in the case to fix the card (for longer cards). But the K4000 seems to be about the same size as the FX3400 so that would work fine. The Quadro 4000 should also be fine although wouldn't give you as much of a boost.

Thanks for advice - much appreciated. I'll check out the k4000 (although I suspect it maybe out of my budget the 4000 is around £60)...
