I recently bought a steering wheel and it came with an application called steering.exe which I believe is the driver system. I installed steering.exe but when I plug in my wheel it says it is not recognized or has malfunctioned. I then decided to track down some of the downloaded files and found two files that were .dll, so I went into my device manager and found the wheel and pressed update drivers. I then selected the folder where the 2 dll files were but it said 'Please select a folder that includes driver software installation files.' Please help because this is my first steering wheel with pedals and if it doesn't work I will end up getting an expensive version which I want to avoid doing.

Thank You

I am afraid you might have a damaged good on your hand, usually when a new device is plugged in it will say computer recognised device and begin running a small scan to sync the devices. In the future always buy from a reliable source or read reviews. Signs to look out for - no website, no refunds, stuff like that. Try and return it and get a new one if it is still under warranty.

I recommend Thrustmaster or Logitech but Logitech is rather expensive

the model of the wheel is euroquantum. The steering.exe file was taken from a mini cd driver disc and put onto a larger disc so it would work on my computer. The steering.exe installs a driver that is called LS-USBMX1/2/3 steering however I can find the driver in my programs list but don't know where exactly it is on my computer.

However, when I use the mode button and try programming stuff using the buttons exactly like the manual says the buttons light up and all correctly so it is quite strange if it doesn't work.

Do you think it will be worth trying out the wheel on a computer that can read the proper mini cd? And if that works buy a cheap £10 cd reader or am I better of going for something like logitech

Uninstall all the drivers of the whell ..
Restart ur pc..
Insert the whell and let Windows install its own drivers for the wheel..
Now use X360CE to run any game with the wheel..
Just google x360ce and you'll know everything about it...its an xbox controller emulator software. .
This is what i do with my Gladiator racing wheel which is i suppose the worst wheel
