Q6600 Cooling Issues

I was playing BattleField 3 today and for the first time I noticed that it was stuttering and jerking a little bit. I was not in an intense battle nor was I doing anything , I had just spawned into the game and saw how things were moving.

I went and checked my computer temperature on Core Temp here are my readings.
Idle(41c)
BattleField 3 (83c)

I have a feeling that I am in need of some changes so based on the information I give may I have some help on upgrading and choosing the right parts? I am not looking to spend a lot of money because I just recently built a gaming computer but had a lot if help on it... I learned little to nothing in which I regret. So Im working on this computer as a project.



The computer:

CPU:Q6600 Quad Core @ 2.4ghz
Ram:4 gig
Motherboard:U56ZN
Case: Dell Optiplex 760 (stock)
Fan: (Stock) rpm changes from (1250 idle) (2300 full load)
Graphics Card: EVGA GT 630 ( Soon to be GTX 650)

What I am really looking for is a case that will fit my motherboard and a good quality after market cooler. It would be a great help , Thank you !

- Thermaltake Commander will fit 212 evo ... have to call manufacture for front fan screw, the front usb3 is a direct wire to rear usb3

- Corsair Graphite Series 230T Orange.. is a very cool case... will fit 212 evo ... you will need to get a cheap usb3 card($12) for the front usb...

- Sentey® GS-6050 Halcon II .. is nice too ... love the purple .. will fit the cooler but might have to remove the side fan ( in my antec 1200 i just cut the corner of the fan little and they fit)

over all i like the corsair orange the most.. look cool and decent air flow.

any of 3 will do fine.. they have plus and minus do it up to you what fit your personality the most.

any case will fit your MB .. cheap get CM 212 evo cooler ... will do great ..
but make sure it clear side of your new case because it 160mm high.

i had your chip and gtx650 ... my temp was under 70.. that is with OC to 3.0

I would not sink too much money on obsolete parts like upgrading your memory, CPU, etc as they are on a dead platform. However, you could always upgrade to a nicer case and use a decent cooler such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo as these are parts that can be used again on a future build.

Or you could just clean your CPU and reapply some new thermal paste. The paste gets old and dry after years of use and can become less effective.

I will be over clocking this once I get the proper cooling and what not , but as I was saying this is not a hardcore gaming computer moreover just a project and I at least wanted to have some decency in this computer !

I think all these cases will not fit the fan ? If im correct could I have some help choose a case? I dont want to buy the wrong case and loose my money. Thank you again !
