PC turns off while playing games (most of)

Hey all, first post in this forums.
So basically, I have a couple years old low-mid range PC for this year, but it still can run some this or last couple years games with medium, some max settings. obviously, older games even better.
But the problem is that when I tried to play games like Dirt 3, FIFA 14, WRC4 the PC just turns off at some moment. and settings for those games are, I'd say, optimal for this PC. but when I play CS:GO everything is ok, it have never turned off. and usage of CPU/GPU for theese games based on settigns, I'd say are equal. and I have checked temperatures while playing theese games and they don't exceed 60C even though it's really hot now where I live :D.
Plus the thing is when the PC turns off, to turn it back on, I need to hold power button for like 5-7 seconds, then release it and press it to turn PC back on. so, what could be the problem? PSU? because I dont think it's overheating.

Solution

Yeah, I'm still leaning towards it being the PSU. That doesn't appear to be a very good quality unit. The system is stressed at its max when gaming. Especially when the settings are such that the card and CPU max out. Try one of the games that causes the issue, and set all the in-game settings to some real wimpy minimum. Play like that for a test and see if the PC shuts down.

my PSU model is some PSN-405P and no manufacturer/vendor on PSU sticker. sticker on PSU looks like this - http://goo.gl/LVCgEX.
and I have Intel Pentium E6700 (3.2 ghz, 2C), GPU - Radeon HD 4650. kinda old though, but it still can run some games, as I mentioned in original post.

yes, I have checked, as I said in first post. and mostly they dont exceed 60C. I tried one stress test which heated up GPU to around 70C and CPU to ~65C.

yup, I wanted to do this, so I'll try playing with lower settings and see what happens.

just tried Dirt3 with lowest settings (before I had all on high) and still, I start a race, comes first corner (at this spot PC allways turns off) and baam, PC off. this is really weard. so definitely it's not overheating as I said, and doesn't feel like it's CPU, GPU problem. HDD goes off? :D I tried NFS SHIFT 2 and it turns off at random placaes to on any graphic settings. I played GRID Autosport like a week ago and everything was ok (I had like medium-high) settings for it. I'll try to play it now and see what happens.

now played GRID Autosport on high settings, which I had previously and everything was ok, PC didn't turn off. plus last time I played WRC4, PC turned off, but before that everything was ok, while Dirt3 and SHIFT2 was making PC turn off and still does, no matter graphic settings. kinda weird..

Those kind of results always makes troubleshooting hard. It appears to be a "sometimes thing". So far, I would still have to lean toward the inexpensive PSU causing the issue. Does the PC go completely off to the point you have to restart it, or does it restart itself if you wait a minute?

Plus the PSU is kinda beeping/buzzing silently for like couple months now (but when it started to do that games didn't make PC turn off at first, but it does now for like couple of weeks). but yes, the PC goes completely off and doesn't restart itself. BUT to turn it back on, I have to hold the power button for like 5-7sec and then press it again to turn it on. Its like it isn't completely turned off, so I need to hold that power button and then release it and press it again turn it on. couple years ago my other PC turned off when it got overheated (fixed it by changing cpu/new cooler) and to turn it back on I hadn't to hold power button, release it and press it again to turn on.. just had to press it normaly. so this time it's kinda weird.

Yup, agreed, I should replace it.
but I think the weirdest part about this problem is that way to turn my PC back on (mentioned in my previous post)..

only though I'm using Win7.
And I still have this problem, even thogh I reinstalled Windows.
But I'm thinking, could it be RAM's fault that PC turns off? because now I only played CS:GO (ram usually around 90%, sometimes like 99%) on this PC and it's turning off on this game too, after booting on again, it turns off at the same time.
BUT still I'm thinking it's kinda weird/interesting that to turn my PC back on (it doesn't restart), I have to hold power button for like 5sec, release it and press it again to turn PC back on.
