So i have a card that uses 1 6pin cable but im upgrading to the one that uses 2(being sent without additional cables though) and i found an old 6pin cable that has 2 connection points for PSU.. So, what gives? One that im using has only one, why does this one have 2? Is it for better efficiency? And do i need to plug them both in the PSU for it to work or just 1?

They allow for the card to pull more power. Sometimes the GPU draws from one connector and the fan draws from the other. Some GPUs have dual power rails to power different parts of the card. It just depends on the power design of the card, but the two connectors are basically to give the card more power.

Are you sure the double-connector end is the PSU end? There are PSU cables designed with a single plug on the PSU side and 6pin connector on the GPUS end with another on a pigtail.

So i need to attach them both, right?

Yes, you will need to connect a 6-pin cable to each of the connectors on your GPU. The cable you talked about earlier is a dual Molex to 6 pin ATX connector. The 6 pin side goes into your GPU and the two other connectors go into the Molex connectors coming from your PSU.
